Frequently Asked Questions
How many productions does STS do in a year?
We do four full productions (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall), along with several small bootcamps throughout the year.
How frequently do the children rehearse?
During the school year, they rehearse one day a week for 1.5-2 hours. During the summer, we run one and two week sessions, so they rehearse three or five days a week for three hours.
How many weeks are in a session?
Our sessions change, but during the school year they are eight to ten weeks.
What are the usual times for summer rehearsals?
In the summer, rehearsals are usually 9am-12pm or 12:30-3:30pm.
What is your cancellation policy?
A $50 non-refundable deposit is included in the tuition. Workshop tuition is refundable (minus the $50 deposit) only if your spot can be filled from the waitlist up to one week before the workshop begins. You may also opt to get a full credit towards a future production. Tuition is non-refundable after the workshop has begun.
Do we need a prepared audition?
Every workshop is different. We teach the fundamentals of auditioning in class. Sometimes, we do ask that you memorize something ahead of time, but you will be notified.
Why can't I wear flip-flops to rehearsal?
It is dangerous. Appropriate footwear for actors and dancers are tennis shoes, jazz shoes, or ballet shoes.
Why has STS stopped distributing programs?
STS is going green! The money we save on not printing programs makes it possible for us to enhance our scholarship program. A program will be emailed to you before the performance.
How are tickets ordered?
After the workshop begins, STS will email you an informational packet that will include ticket information and an order form. Tickets can be ordered through our website or in person during rehearsal.
Is there an additional fee for costumes?
No, but you will be asked to provide base costume pieces, as well as shoes and socks.
